I like to think about the majesty of God; and how one should live in light of a real and living God. I’m learning to trust Him these days which really is a whole different concept. But, after 31 years of just thinking about God and feeling guilty for not living up to His standards, I finally accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Now, I’m praying for more faith. The kind of faith that Abraham had. Something grounded in the promises of the KING.
My history is fairly boring. Well, not to me, but it will be to you!
I got my bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Then, for 5 years, I had a super exciting job. I traveled around the U.S. for a year and then lived in Europe for a few years. Most of my work was in product development (a real chemistry job) which was very rewarding. I think everyone who bothers with a degree gets excited if their jobs are related to that degree! I supervised a soil testing lab after that. It was a stupid job… but still I was using my chemistry background!
These days, I home school a high school student and teach science at a local private school. Once a suburbanite, I now live in the country with my dh, dd-16yo and ds-11yo. The oldest child, dd-21yo, has flown the coop and is attending college in Chicago, IL.
I guess that’s enough information ~ especially considering no one will bother reading my blog. I like that though. Makes it more like a diary!
P.S. Kelley is my friend, and Mike is my brother. ![]()

I homeschool a highschooler, and majored in chemistry (organic) also! Your blog was recommended reading at the bottom of my recent post: http://gloriadelia.wordpress.com/2010/03/17/to-bake-or-not-to-bake-that-is-the-question/
Hope you’re ok. Noticed you’re not blogging anymore. Looks like an interesting blog. I’ll enjoy looking through it, I think. Gloris

Hi Gloria or Delia? How old is your high school student? Mine is almost 18 years old. We’re doing a lot of college-prep; even though she wants to milk cows the rest of her life!! Anyway, we’ve also decided to drag out high school for one more year. That gave her the opportunity to earn some agricultural & construction credits.

Annie could make a trip to Vandy with Nick, but she would need someone to go with her (my decision). We might just take you up on the offer. But she’ll need to get back home by 2:00PM. And because you have to wait forever to see the doctor, she’d need an early appointment — like 9:00 which means she’d have to leave home by 6:30. Ok, after figuring that all out, I’m not sure it is a good idea. Thanks for the offer though! And, I’ll let you know.
